Google Adding Favicons to Mobile Search Results

Sooner or later, Google is rolling out a new look for mobile search results that includes adding favicons in SERPs. The website name plus its favicon will display at the top of the results page, as shown in the image below.
Google said “We’re bringing a fresh new design to Search, helping you more easily find the information you’re looking for.”
If you search for a product or service on mobile, you will see a website’s icon and name above the title, the bolded black ‘Ad’ label that will replace by ‘Green’ label, would appear at the top of the card along with URL.
Lastly, with this new design, a website’s branding can be front and center, helping you better understand where the information is coming from and what pages have what you’re looking for.
According to Google:
“As we continue to make new content formats and useful actions available—from buying movie tickets to playing podcasts—this new design allows us to add more action buttons and helpful previews to search results cards, all while giving you a better sense of the web page’s content with clear attribution back to the source.”
This new look is coming first to mobile and will be coming out in the next few days. If you want to learn more about how to implement their preferred icon for organic listings click here.
